Get your Mockingjay salute ready and unite with motiongate™ Dubai as they reveal details of two themed rides inspired by The Hunger Games franchise in a way that  has never been seen before.

motiongate™ Dubai as part of Dubai Parks and Resorts will open in 2016 and The Hunger Games fans are sure to flock to the park for the two spectacular rides including an immersive  adventure which will take guests through the Capitol on board a hovercraft to see the world of Panem. The second ride will be a launched roller coaster which transports guests from District 12 to the Capitol via a super high-speed Capitol bullet train.

With impressive staging that recreates life in Panem, visitors to motiongate™ Dubai will be taken on a very special tour, flying through some of the most iconic landmarks of the Capitol with brand new footage shot especially for  Dubai Parks and Resorts. The adventure begins when guests board vehicles specially designed to replicate the hovercrafts from the film. However, it is not long before the craft catches the attention of the Peacekeepers and that’s when the action really starts and a thrilling battle in the sky ensues!

Guido Zucchi, General Manager of motiongate™ Dubai said: “This is a global first and we are extremely excited to have not one, but two rides inspired by The Hunger Games at the Lionsgate Zone opening in motiongate™ Dubai. We cannot wait to transfer life in Panem from the silver screen into an experience for fans and fun lovers from around the world!”

“The creative resources, spirit of innovation and vision of the entertainment experience of Lionsgate are extremely well-aligned with our own and we are delighted to be working with the Lionsgate team to bring to life The Hunger Games franchise for the first time globally in a theme park environment. Our united goal is to position motiongate™ Dubai as one of the most visionary new theme parks in the world,” said Stanford Pinto, Chief Parks Operating Officer for Dubai Parks and Resorts.

motiongate™ Dubai will become the region’s largest Hollywood-inspired theme park and will feature 27 rides and attractions spread across five different Zones – Sony Pictures Studios, DreamWorks, Lionsgate, Smurfs Village and the park’s entry boulevard, Studio Central. Both of The Hunger Games rides will be present in the Lionsgate zone along with an all new live stage show based on the hit films Step Up Revolution and Step Up All In.

Alongside the exhilarating rides and attractions guests can sit and enjoy a meal at one of nine themed family-friendly restaurants, take a bite at any of the quick dinning kiosks along the park,  pick up some film-themed souvenirs at one of the 15 themed retail outlets or enjoy a show at the multi-purpose motiongate™ Theatre that will seat 1,000 guests.

motiongate™ Dubai is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is set to be the region’s largest integrated theme park destination with three theme parks – motiongate™ Dubai, Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, LEGOLAND® Dubai, LEGOLAND® Water Park and the Lapita™ Hotel, a Polynesian-themed hotel catering to families.  The parks will be connected by Riverland™ Dubai, a centrally located district of 220,000 square feet of leasable retail, dining and entertainment space.
