Dubai Parks and Resorts, set to become the Middle East’s largest integrated theme park destination on its opening in October this year, has announced that it has appointed 744 Emirati employees since the launch of its ambitious Emiratisation programme which aims to hire 1,000 UAE nationals. This announcement follows a highly successful three-day attendance at Careers UAE 2016, where 147 exceptional Emirati candidates accepted offers of employment
Dubai Parks and Resorts set out an ambitious Emiratisation plan last year to recruit 1,000 Emiratis. The company’s extensive Emiratisation programme comprises three initiatives – Forsati, Sahim, and Helmi – to offer Emiratis of all career levels, from new graduates to future leaders, an inspiring range of job opportunities.
Dubai Parks and Resorts’ recruitment team has been hard at work raising the profile of the thriving theme park industry and the exciting employment opportunities available for UAE nationals. The team held a series of roadshows across the UAE, recruitment open days and attended number of high profile careers events.
At the recently concluded Careers UAE, the Dubai Parks and Resorts’ recruitment team conducted over 600 first and second round interviews in their search for bright Emirati talent. Interest was high from UAE nationals, with over 2,000 Emirati job-seekers visiting the Dubai Parks and Resorts stand to learn more about the exciting career opportunities available. Outstanding candidates that successfully passed the interview process were offered employment contracts on the spot. Ten ‘Helmi’ graduates that have recently returned from studying Theme Park Management in Florida, attended Careers UAE to share their positive experiences of working for Dubai Parks and Resorts with prospective candidates.
Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, Dubai Parks and Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer said: “We are thrilled to welcome so many new colleagues to the Dubai Parks and Resorts family. Hiring 744 Emirati colleagues is a great achievement for us as we climb closer to our aim of hiring 1,000 UAE nationals. We are at the forefront of a dynamic, new industry in the region and we recognise the importance of building a generation of national talent to ensure its long term success. We are proud to support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to nurture and empower Emirati skillsets.”
